This 1-day adventure gives you a taste of the Otago Central Rail Trail, taking in the most stunning section of the trail – Poolburn Gorge with a 37m high viaduct followed by two awesome tunnels and secluded gorge where you can enjoy a picnic lunch or snack. Perfect for families or those just wanting a taste of the Otago Central Rail Trail.
Itinerary
Start your adventure from Cromwell at 8.30am with bike fitting and briefing prior to taking our shuttle to Auripo, departing 9am, for your cycling to begin. This section of the trail is gentle riding so an easy ride for the whole family. Cycling for about 2-3 hours.
You pass through the townships of Lauder, Omakau and on to Chatto Creek where you will be picked up by our shuttle at 3pm and brought back to Cromwell.
Start from our Cromwell depot at 8.30am with bike fitting and briefing prior to taking our shuttle to Auripo, departing 9am, for your adventure to begin. This whole section of the trail is gentle riding so an easy ride for all riders. Cycling for about 3-4 hours.
You pass through the townships of Lauder, Omakau and Chatto Creek, finishing in Clyde. Enjoy the Southern Hospitality for food and drink along the way. Shuttle pick up at 4pm from Clyde, returning to Cromwell.
