After joining a shuttle transfer from Queenstown to Arrowtown, enjoy a look around the historic township of Arrowtown where there is plenty to explore – historic goldmining ruins, galleries, the Lakes District Museum, shops and cafes galore.  Then it's off to join the Arrow River Bridges Trail heading east towards Gibbston.

As the name suggests, the trail follows the Arrow River and travels over numerous bridges including the staggering Edgar Suspension Bridge, before connecting with the Gibbston River Trail at the Kawarau Bungy Bridge.  Be sure to check out how many dare devils you can spot as you cross the bridge!

From there continue heading east along the trail above the Kawarau River.  There are a number of cellar doors along the trail – for ease of navigation, our trail map indicates all the wineries along the route.  Wine afficionados will look forward to great storytelling and wine tastings along the way.

Towards the end of the afternoon, navigate to Mt Rosa Wines, where the Kiwi Journeys depot is located.  There might even be time for a cooling refreshment before returning to Queenstown by shuttle.

This grade 2 trail is a great option for families where kids can ride along on their own bike on the gentle trail, or tag along on a tow-behind or trailer.
