The Kawarau Gorge Trail is an exciting new cycling experience in Central Otago, stretching 32 kilometres from Gibbston Valley through the spectacular scenery of Nevis Bluff, connecting Queenstown with the popular Central Otago trails.

This amazing new trail is planned to open around September 2026, fingers crossed on timing. We’ll make sure to get you out there asap as we launch a range of tours from our new Queenstown depot, which links up perfectly with our existing Cromwell depot.

This trail unlocks parts of the Kawarau Gorge that haven’t been accessible before, with big river canyon views, suspension bridges, and relaxed riding along the Kawarau River.

This Great Ride takes in highlights such as the renowned Gibbston and Bannockburn wineries and the historic Goldfields Mining Centre, and is best suited to riders with a good level of confidence and ability.
